How to Use a Whipped Cream Dispenser: A Step-by-Step Guide

To use a whipped cream dispenser, fill it with a chilled, smooth mixture, fit the head, charge it as directed for your model and dispense with the nozzle pointing down. Check the bottle's fill mark and the position of the seal before you start.

These steps cover cold cream preparations. Use the instructions supplied with your model for charger compatibility, charge quantity and any hot-use settings.

1. Prepare the cream and bottle

Start with well-chilled fresh cream or a smooth mixture suitable for your dispenser. Before first use, or after a period of storage, rinse the bottle with warm water followed by cold water. Cool the bottle under cold water or in the refrigerator before filling; keep it out of the freezer.

Prepare flavorings before they go into the bottle:

  • Use powdered sugar or a liquid sweetener.
  • If using granulated sugar or salt, dissolve it in the recipe's water or milk first.
  • Leave out seeds, pulp and undissolved particles that could block the valve.

2. Fill the bottle and fit the head

Pour in the mixture up to the marked fill limit. Leave the space above the mark empty.

Seat the sealing gasket inside the head, then screw the head onto the bottle evenly and firmly. If the head goes on at an angle or the threads resist, stop and realign it before charging. Never force it into place.

3. Charge, then shake for your mixture

Insert a compatible culinary N₂O charger into the holder and attach it using your model's charging sequence. The instruction booklet describes a hiss as gas enters the bottle. Follow the instructions for removing the holder and fully discharged charger afterward.

Use the charge quantity specified for your exact model and capacity. If you cannot confirm it, contact support before charging. Adding another charger is not a remedy for weak output or poor texture.

Shake according to the recipe and model instructions. Pure heavy cream can become too stiff with excessive shaking, so avoid shaking it again before every serving. Cream mixed with other liquids may need a different mixing routine.

4. Turn the nozzle downward to dispense

Hold the whipper upside down, with the nozzle pointing toward the food or drink, and operate the lever as instructed. If you hold the bottle upright, gas can escape while cream stays inside.

Serve soon after dispensing. If output stops or you suspect a blockage, stop using the whipper and leave the head fitted.

5. Release pressure before cleaning

Follow your model's procedure to release all remaining pressure before unscrewing the head. If pressure will not release normally, contact support. A blocked outlet can remain silent while the bottle is still pressurized.

Once safely depressurized, wash the bottle and permitted removable parts with mild detergent and a suitable brush. Rinse, let everything dry, and store the empty bottle and head separately.
